Lessons at Great Returns Stables

Our Lesson Program

Our lesson program is not a typical riding lesson program. Our program is for clients who are horse owners or aspiring horse owners that want to reach the next level with their horse.​ Since our program is geared towards horsemen and women who have made or want to make the commitment towards horse ownership, it is geared towards teens and adults. Our lessons include more than just riding. Depending on what level you are at with your horse experience, lessons are tailored to you and your goals. 

  • Western and ranch show horse lessons

  • Ground manners lessons

  • Horse training and problem solving lessons

  • Beginner to advanced riding and horse ownership lessons

Beginner- Includes fundamentals such as catching and haltering a horse, leading, basic horse care such as grooming, saddling, riding basics such as walk/trot, stop, steering​

Intermediate- Includes groundwork such as lunging, picking up their feet, horse healthcare basics, riding includes walk/trot/lope and introduction to body control​

Advanced- Includes learning the ins and outs of horse ownership, problem solving and learning horse training techniques, riding includes learning advanced maneuvers ​​

Lesson Policies

Price Per Hour

Our lessons are $50 for an hour or $30 for half an hour. All of our lessons are private. We do not offer group lessons at this time. Lesson fees are due at the time of lesson.

Punctuality Policy

Same Day Cancellation Policy

There is no fee for same day cancellation as long as you let us know you won't make it within a few hours before your lesson time.

If you run late to a lesson please let us know. Riders who are late will receive the remaining time of their scheduled lesson.

No Show Policy

Weather

There is a full lesson charge for no call no shows.

Lessons may be cancelled or rescheduled during extreme weather including excessive heat or cold and severe storms.

Barn Rules

In order to maintain a safe and professional atmosphere in our barn, all barn rules must be followed. After one warning you may be dismissed from our program.

Barn Rules

  1. No smoking.

  2. No running outside of emergencies.

  3. Our liability waiver must be signed before handling any horse on Great Returns Stables property.

  4. All rider's under the age of 18 must wear a helmet.

  5. All rider's must have boots. No riding barefoot, in tennis shoes, or any shoes without a heel.

  6. No loud noises/yelling, climbing on fences, or horseplay in the barn or anywhere around the horses.

  7. Do not feed the horses without permission.

  8. Horses are only to be tied to the cross ties or a tie ring. Never tie horses to the front of the stalls or a panel.

  9. ​Children must be accompanied by an adult at all times. 

  10. Clean up after your horse in the arena, aisleways, and parking areas. 

  11. Always keep ahold of your horse's lead rope outside of fenced areas. Never allow your horse to free roam. 

  12. All horse's that come onto Great Returns Stables property must have a current negative Coggin's and be up to date on vaccinations.
